The History of Treasure Valley GAP
Back in the late 1980's a therapeutic support group for kinship caregivers was formed at St. Luke's. After a while, the professionals who led the group moved on to other interests but the grandparents decided to continue meeting.
Many of the founding members have grandchildren that are now grown. Over the years many, many new members have joined. Treasure Valley GAP is now the largest, longest running kinship caregiver support group in the State of Idaho.
In every way imaginable GAP is a non-profit, non-professional support group. We exist on donations alone. We are kinship caregivers - not attorneys, doctors or therapists. The advice we give is based on our own experience.
