• GAP serves as a support group for grandparents and other relatives raising children. 
• GAP is a place to come together to discuss your problems and help find solutions.
• GAP is a way for children to meet other children being raised by grandparents or other relatives.
• GAP provides an opportunity for education and recreational interaction.
• GAP provides a self-help support setting for Kinship families by encouraging members to broaden their understanding through sharing of knowledge and experiences.
• GAP enables grandparent/kin support groups throughout the state to work with one another to ensure that our grandchildren have the opportunity for a safe and stable childhood.
• GAP advocates and lobbies for legislative changes that protect the rights of our children.
• GAP advocates for kinship families to have representation with policy making parties. 
• GAP provides encouragement, practical and emotional support through our meetings.

 MEETINGS

When:  The 1st Monday of every month, unless they fall on holidays (Labor Day, for instance);meetings will then be the following Monday.

Where: Boise 1st Community Center *

(First Church of the Nazarene)

Time:. 6:30-8:30pm

*The community center is located on the east side of Eagle Rd between Ustick & McMillan.

Free Childcare is available during the meeting.

According to the US Census of 2010, one in ten children live with a grandparent.
